Atlantic Boat ACR began in 1987 as Atlantic Boat Chandlers, a marine supply store and service provider. Owned and operated by John L. Gervais III, the business provides on-site services to boat owners, including heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical repairs and sailboat rigging.
The business evolved into primarily service, specializing in marine heating, air conditioning and refrigeration. In 1996, Atlantic Boat Chandlers became Atlantic Boat ACR (air conditioning and refrigeration) to concentrate on sales, service and installation of marine heating, air conditioning and refrigeration.
In August 2003 Charleston Boatworks ,Inc. bought Atlantic Boat ACR and the business moved to the Boatworks boatyard at the old Navy base in North Charleston, SC.
In February 2006, Atlantic Boat ACR once again became independent and solely owned by John L. Gervais, III, and moved to Johns Island, SC, just across the Stono River from the city of Charleston. The current location of 3153-F Maybank Hwy at the Builder's First Source and Island Storage site makes us more consumer friendly.
We are a factory authorized service center for all the major brands of marine HVAC and refrigeration equipment,especially; CRUISAIR , Marine Air, Sea Frost, Norcold, Waeco, Adler Barbour, Grunnert, Sentry, Eskimo Ice, U-Line and Coolmatic.
